Welcome to Dancing Thru Life or DTL as we like to call it!
Where being an adult dancer is celebrated!
Finding the Right Class
Whether you’re stepping into a dance class for the first time, returning after time away or looking for a way to continue dancing, Dancing Thru Life offers options designed specifically for adult dancers. Go ahead and enroll in the class you feel is the best fit. We’ll make sure you’re in the right class and at the right level for you. Visit our Class Description page for details.
Adult Beginner Tap
Our Adult Beginner Tap classes are designed for adults with little or no previous tap experience. No previous dance experience is necessary. We offer both our regular season Beginner Tap class as well as a recreational, non-performance Beginner Tap class beginning in January.
Seated Tap & Tambourine
Seated Tap & Tambourine offers adults the opportunity to dance entirely from a seated position. The class incorporates basic tap steps and rhythms along with tambourine movement. No previous dance or tap experience is necessary. Classes begin in October.
Returning Adult Dancers
If you’ve danced before but aren’t sure which level is right for you, don’t let that stop you from enrolling. If after your first class you or your instructor feel another level would be a better fit, we’ll help you make that adjustment.
What to Wear
Wear comfortable, workout-style clothing. To help instructors see your footwork, we recommend leggings rather than bootcut-style pants. Please avoid jeans or cut-offs.
Shoes
For your first class, wear tennis shoes (for jazz or ballet) or hard-soled flats (for tap). Your instructor will help determine which shoes are best suited to your level and dance style.
Registration Process
The main season includes three registration opportunities: Class Enrollment for your regular weekly classes, Drop-In Enrollment for students participating in unlimited classes and Show Performance Enrollment for those wishing to participate in our annual performance. When you're ready to enroll, visit our Schedule & Seasons page to view available classes and register online.
Performance Opportunities
In May, all Dancing Thru Life students are invited to showcase their skills in our fun and lively variety show, Performing for Life. If you choose to participate, you'll be expected to attend special rehearsals and perform in both the matinee and evening shows.
Attendance & Tuition
Tuition is determined by enrollment, not attendance. Once enrolled, the full tuition for that trimester is required regardless of the number of classes attended. Absences do not reduce tuition and are not eligible for refunds, adjustments or credits. Missed classes can be made up in an equal or lower-level class during the same trimester. Refunds, adjustments or prorated credits are not offered for classes dropped mid-trimester. To discontinue all dance classes and prevent further billing, a written request must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the start of a new trimester. Accounts stay open and payment obligations remain until a written notice is received.
Tuition & Billing
Tuition is posted at the start of the trimester or summer session. We accept Cash, Check, Credit Cards and ApplePay. If tuition payment is not received within fifteen days (seven days for summer sessions) of the due date, a $10 late fee will be applied. A $25 fee will be assessed for all returned checks. After three (3) returned checks, the studio reserves the right to require all future payments to be made by cash or credit card.
